Tuesday's Results

So I went to the Oncologist today and asked him a ton of questions like what stage is my cancer, what are the treatment cycles, when do I start treatment, etc. He did a few strength tests to see where and the intensity of the pain. Then he told me that I need a PET scan and a bone marrow biopsy before he could answer my questions. I had the bone marrow biopsy today and I am very bruised and wearing 2 fabulously huge ban-aids on my rear-end. The PET scan will be sometime early next week. I meet with the radiation doctor on Jan 18th.

The good news is that I am able to go to Disneyland. We had bought our tickets the day before all this craziness came about. The doctor says I might have a treatment before I leave or start them right after I get home.

I am bracing myself for the hair loss since it is bound to happen. I have bought a wig that resembles my current color. When I get it, I will post a picture with my new hairdo. However, I am half tempted to buy a blonde one just for the fun of it....any comments about that? A few of you have asked what you can do or how you can help. If you have a moment, make a list of funny movies. If I am going to be sick and in bed, I might as well watch a good flick.

I think you should definatly go blonde and maybe even braids! I'll try and scan some funny pictures of me as a teenager with blond hair and braids and even a perm! If I can't get them scanned I'll show you guys when you come down to CA, I think you will find them amusing :-) Ethan

You are so cute! Luis and I were cracking up about the blond wig! I think you should get a mohawk wig. You could definatly pull it off. Have you seen the movie "Hitch"? I love it.

Love you!

Have fun in Disneyland! When I make my trips to the library I can pick up your movies/books if you give me a list. And as for the wig, I think blonde would be fun.

I say go for the blonde. I have been both and it is definately fun to switch it up a little. Then if you need to go to the store or something and don't want to be bothered just throw it on and nobody will know it is you, LOL! Thanks for the update I think I had checked the blog a dozen times waiting for one. When do you guys go to Disneyland? -Lacey

Sasha,

I've been blonde, and sometimes they really do have more fun. You should definitely check out 'Devil Wears Prada' with Meryl Streep, one of my favorites. I could watch it over and over and over again. Have fun in Disney Land!

Movies: anything by Christopher Guest. As Good As it Gets. Tootsie. If you can't get Tootsie, let me know. I'll find it. Probably on line is your best bet. Mrs. Doubtfire is good. I'll keep thinking. Love, Dorothy

I totally think you should buy several different wigs with different haristyles and colors. Have short brown hair one day and long blonde the next!

Keep us posted!

I think you should try whatever wig you like. You'd look great in anything! Thanks for the update and for sharing your blog.
Some of my favorite funny movies: Father of the Bride, Tommy Boy, and (it's not a movie but I think the show is hilarious) past seasons of The Office.

Sasha,
You look amazing! You are a healthy person and always have been. Isn't that interesting how the Lord has given you a desire to be healthy, possibly in order to strengthen your body for this. You and your family glow...I love it!!!! heard about your situation (you know how the mormon world is) You are such a sweetie and we are definitely praying for you!
Love Sabrina Purcell (durham) and family
Zaneta Gileno says hi also and you will be in her prayers as well for sure!
Hopefully you remember me.

Hi Sasha! I'm so glad you started a blog. You mentioned how something like this happening to you makes you appreciate every little thing. Well, I want you to know that it does something similar (probably not to the same extent) to those around you. Not that I think it's great that you're sick so I can appreciate my life-- but I think you know what I mean.
Anyway, try "Stranger than Fiction." Funny movie. You should sign up for Blockbuster online or something so you can have movies mailed to you. We have it right now and like it, but don't generally have time to watch all the movies we get.

Hi Sasha
It was so good to see you yesterday(even though it was in the potty room). Its nice to hear your updates. I was wondering if I could share this with my daughter Judi. She is a breast cancer survivor & she knows you have been my visiting teacher. I hope to be able to come up this month for my lesson & a visit. I love you . Hug my "Grand babies" for me.
