Everyday seems so routine but I know 5 or even 10 years from now the routine will be different and I will want to know what life was like when the kids were small.  So here is a peek into present time.  I am walking on the treadmill as I type this entry.  The older kids have left for school.  The morning started out fairly peaceful.  I looked at the stock market this morning.  Looks like the NASDAQ will be down.  McCabe needed some help with his homework.   He was alphabetizing his spelling words and typing the past, present, and future tense of each word.  Xadia wanted to find a book from the series of “the Diary of a Wimpy Kid so she could take it to school and read.  She is getting ready for Dr. Seuss’ birthday read-a-thon.  Jacinda is gone.  She had play practice this morning at the school.  She is a jungle citizen in Seussical the Musical.  Teagan is busy playing his kindle.  He likes to play a game where a block slides across the floor and jumps over items.  He just informed me that he is now playing a new game called Terreria.
I enjoy my kids.  They are really good people.  Jacinda likes to spend her time playing undertale and making crafts.  Currently she is sewing an undertale creature out of gray fabric.

She is loving young womens and is now filling her schedule with activities and friends.  McCabe loves to play with Michael Smith.  Everyday he asks if Michael can play.  When these two boys get together they use their imaginations to create scenarios and solve them.  It is so interesting.  I once over heard them say, “you go into a dark cave and now….” Then the other boy finishes the sentence and picks up the adventure from there.  They converse back and forth and do this for hours.  It is amazing.  Xadia likes to play Minecraft or Roblox.  She is very obedient and super helpful.  Just last night I asked everyone to get in their pajamas and brush their teeth.  Xadia did it on the first request.  I had to tell the other kids 3 or 4 times before they did what was requested.  Xadia also comes straight home and does her homework so she can be free to play the computer or Legos.  She also makes fantastic pictures using markers and plastic jewels.

Teagan and I stay at home.  I like the time I have with him.  He will be starting kindergarten this fall so that means it is time for me to go to work full time.  But for the moment, I silently watch this boy.  He loves to play his kindle and watch Curious George (the monkey).

He loves to have books read to him.  He currently loves 3 books; Tractors, The Giant Jam Sandwich, and Curious George and the Snowy Day.  Teagan also loves to go swimming.  He jumps off the diving boards (the low and high) and does the Wibit obstacle course.  But I think his favorite thing do to when swimming is hold onto Tim and go up and down in the water as Tim swims.
Tim is the best guy and husband ever!  He works so hard everyday to provide for the family. He comes home exhausted but still has enough energy to spend time with the kids.  Yesterday he was teaching McCabe about investing and starting young so that time and massive interest can be on his side.  McCabe got excited and wants to open a brokerage account.  Tim is also very good at helping the kids with their art projects.  He helped Jacinda make her castle for school medieval days.

Tim is also a good sport.  He played the part of Sonny Bono for the annual ward chili cook off.  He was dragging his feet the whole way but the second he stepped on the stage he transformed into this crazy confident celebrity.  It was a lot of fun.

February belongs to McCabe.  He decided that he did not want a birthday with friends this year.  So we had a family party with the Johnson's and the Lane's.  McCabe chose to have salmon and orange chicken with chocolate cake and moose track ice cream.  I also added a broccoli salad, grapes, rice, and brussel sprouts.  It was a fun gathering.

We also went out Monday night to Texas Roadhouse with Nana Hefner and Dan Burnham.  McCabe got to ride the saddle because he was the birthday boy.  He hated being on the saddle as the restaurant sang to him but lived through the once a year tradition with a begrudging smile.
Teagan really liked the peanuts at Texas Roadhouse.  He kept running to the front door to get more.  I showed him the bucket of peanuts on our table but he insisted on getting them from the front of restaurant.  In the picture below, Teagan is playing with the many peanut shells he cracked open.
Tim and I had an early Valentine's date.  We went to the conference center and enjoyed the roots tech program highlighting Oscar Hammerstein.  The music was wonderful.  I loved being with Tim and hearing the story of the Hammerstein's family history and the music they created.  Tim and I love musicals and they played songs from Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, Carousel, and The King and I.  We left the performance feeling so happy.  I love it when people share good music and good talent.
