Christmas is coming whether we are ready or not.  I say we are ready.  This year it is going to be really simple.  Just one gift and a stocking full of goodies.  It makes shopping really easy and takes away a lot of stress.
Jacinda just celebrated her 8th birthday.  She had such a great time at her party.  We decorated gingerbread houses and made a bunch of crafts.  Then Jacinda performed some magic tricks for her friends while they waited for their parents to come.  I love how easily entertained 7 and 8 year olds can be.  Jacinda is now preparing for her baptism in January.
McCabe is all excited for his birthday.  He is making plans and using Jacinda’s party as a guide.  McCabe is also very excited for Christmas and the whole gift giving thing.  Today he said that he is wrapping me a present with love inside of it.  When I opened it, I found a lovely homemade popsicle house.  He had colored some grass and a door on it.  I loved it.  It is perfect.  He is very caring and very focused on giving love.
Xadia is loving wrapping paper.  She grabs whatever she can find and wraps it.  Yesterday she wrapped two pieces of scrap cloth.  She will hand it to me and say, “merry Christmas,“ or “happy birthday.”  Xadia is such a funny little girl.  She is calling everyone “stinker,” when they do something silly.  She loves to watch My Little Pony and Pinky Pie is her favorite pony.  She loves pink and is a total girl.  Every day she asks to put on make-up and to take a bath with her toys.  When I call her a “princess,” she says in a low voice, “stop it mom.”  I am trying to teach her to say thank you and be kind but it is a work in progress.

Teagan is so big now.  He is 25 pounds and is full of smiles.  He has six teeth and is so cute.  When you call him “bubba” or “big T,” he gives a little laugh.  He is crawling really well and pulling himself up on furniture.  He also has many bruises on his head.  He has some teeth cutting through and so at the moment he only wants to drink formula.  He is not interested in his baby food.  I love how cute he is.  It makes me so happy to see how big he is getting and the new things he is learning.

We had a great week.  Thanksgiving was spent at home with the family.  We ate chicken tenderloins because I was not going to bake a turkey for 5 people.  The kids did not mind.  After our meal, we went to Pioneer Park and handed out five dollar bills with a homemade card to the homeless.  It was a touching experience.  The recipients were very grateful.  One woman started crying because she really needed the money.  These sweet people were not begging and so they were not expecting the gift.  Most of them were sitting on park benches or lying on the grass with their few possessions next to them in plastic shopping bags.  On the ride home I wanted to cry.  I felt so bad for the homeless we just visited.  I have a hard time understanding why they are in that situation.  In all honesty any of us could be in that situation.  They are just like you and me.  I don’t know why I am so blessed.  But it makes me grateful for what I do have.  After our neat experience, we came home and did some crafts.  We made turkeys out of rocks, google eyes, and foam sticks.  Then we delivered them to the neighbors.  The kids had such a great time giving away their creations they wanted to make more.
Wednesday was very windy so we took advantage of it by flying our kites.  We invited Emma and Austin Coburn to join in the fun.  We went to Hannah Holbrook and ran around the field.  I assembled 5 kites and that was a huge task.  By the time they were all assembled, the kids had the kite strings tangled or wrapped around the playground equipment and were bored of flying kites.  So I got to dissemble all the kites right after assembling them.
I love it when there is a holiday because Tim gets to be with the family and it gives a chance to do things we normally don’t do…like take family pictures.  I cannot believe how many pictures have to be taken before one picture works.  I think the ratio is one good picture for every 15.  It was challenging to have the kids stand still or to look at the camera.  Nevertheless, we did get some good pictures and after reviewing them I have to say that my family is very cute.

So this life is getting crazy.  Obama is going to be President for another 4 years and the economy will be in a huge limbo.  I am glad I have Tim and the kids.  They keep me pretty focused on what is important….the family, the gospel, and serving.
Jacinda is going to be 8 in a few weeks.  We are getting ready for her baptism.  Everybody is excited.  Xadia kept trying to take Jacinda’s baptism packet away from sister Obray (the primary president).  I had to keep Xadia distracted so sister Obray could finish what she needed to tell Jacinda.  After the meeting, Jacinda was choosing who would play the piano and what songs she wanted to sing.  I love all the enthusiasm.
Saturday the kids tested for their tae kwon do belt advancement.  Jacinda is now a high brown belt and McCabe is a green belt.  They both work really hard at their kicks and sparring.  The other day McCabe asked me to help him with his sparring moves.  I told him I did not know them and he said, “but you are there watching me.”  Yes that is true but I am not doing the moves…most of the time I am keeping an eye on Xadia and Teagan.
Friday we had a kids movie night.  The kids took some friends to the movies.  We saw “Wreck it Ralph.”  What a super cute movie.  It was so fun to see the old characters I grew up playing on the video game circuit.  The story line was great.  I would definitely see that movie again.
The latest thing at our house is building a train out of laundry baskets.  The kids love to put Teagan in one of the baskets and pull him around.  Teagan is such a good boy.  He lets the kids pull him around.  Just the other day he was having such a good time in his comfy basket, he fell asleep.  He is just  so cute.
Before I end this entry I have to write something Tim said about Xadia.  “She is not mean, just crazy.”  The reason for the comment is because Xadia is so loud at times and uses such a harsh tone in her voice.  We are coming to realize she is not intentionally being mean.  She is a fiery little pistol of a girl.

We had a special opportunity to do a family night at the South Davis Community Hospital.  This is a care facility for people of all ages.  We got to do family night for the senior citizens.  There is always a special spirit there with understanding on both sides.  The residents are kind to our kids and we just love being in their presence.  One individual was in a wheel chair because he did not have shins or feet.  As soon McCabe saw him, McCabe points and in a very obvious voice says, “look he has no legs.”  It was a good teaching moment about physical differences but spiritually we are all children of God.  Tim organized the whole lesson.  He talked about the origin of Halloween and how we today save our kindred dead.  We then sang a few primary songs and ended with giving each resident a Halloween picture.  It was a golden moment.  I hope the kids will always remember the importance of serving and that this service will have a positive impact.

Just got back from a fun weekend, we went camping in Marysvale Utah.  Our friends own Lizzie and Charlie’s RV park.  We rented ATV’s, went to the rock shop and learned more about rocks than we ever needed to know.  We saw some petro-glyphs that were 1500 years old.  The kids had a great time collecting rocks and jumping in the leaves.  It was so beautiful with all the fall colors.  I loved it.  Sleeping in the camper was a riot.  We were packed like sardines with the pack n play and our luggage and the hide a bed pulled out.  The kids would not be quiet and go to sleep.  Xadia kept getting out of bed and jumping on the mattress.  That would wake up Teagan and the other kids would complain.  I am glad it was only an one night ordeal.
After camping, we went to Cove Fort.  That was very interesting.  I love to see pioneer stuff and learn about ancestors.  I was so impressed with their use and recycling capabilities.  For instance, after a mattress wears out, the pioneer would take the fabric and make a shirt or some pants.  Once those wore out, the fabric was weaved into a rug.  Once the rug was worn it would be burned in the fireplace and the ashes would be used as lye for soap.  Wow….that is incredible.  Fast forward to 2012…..what happens to my mattress when worn out, it goes straight to the dump.  After our tour of Cove fort, we had a picnic on the lawn.  It was really windy and so the kids had a fun time making a sail or a parachute out of the picnic blanket.  Tim and I enjoyed watching them run around and laughing in the wind.  Such a grand time to be a child.

I have a good reason for missing my last post….I broke my ankle.  Friday morning I was walking down the stairs.  Teagan was in one arm a bagel in the other hand and Tim’s slippers on my feet.  I was only going down 4 stairs but that did it.  I slipped and landed on my rear, then my arms, and then my head.  Amazingly I did not drop Teagan.  He had a safe landing.  I was in screaming pain but so worried about comforting Teagan.  He was crying and I was crying.  My foot was swollen and hurting.  Sure enough I had broken my fibula.  I did not pull any ligaments or tendons so that means no surgery.  I have been limping around all week.  It has been frustrating becoming somewhat dependent on others.  However, I am very grateful for their help and kindness but I would much rather be on the giving side rather than the receiving.  I am so thankful to the ward for sending meals.  I am also Tim is learning how to use the oven in the time of my absence of cooking.  I had to teach him how to turn the oven to 425 degrees.  It was quite the experience.  I thought he was just joking, after all this man can wire the house, hook up the surround system, has every computer gadget and new technology thing that comes to the market.  Surely he knows how to work the oven!  Nope! He needed a little crash course but now he is golden.  I love that man.
I had a low key birthday.  Tim got me a kitchen aid.  I have already used it to make cookies and rolls.  Kerianne took me out to lunch.  We got our food to go and had a picnic in the park.  It was a lot of fun catching up with each other.  Jacinda made a really cute craft.
Xadia is having a birthday this week on the 10th.  We celebrated it today.  We had family over and ate a meal and had cake and ice cream.  When we sang to her she got really embarrassed and hid under the table.  I thought that was unusual behavior for her….I guess she is changing as she gets older.  Xadia loves to draw with markers.  We are teaching her not to draw on herself.  Just the other day she had lines going up and down both arms in a variety of marker colors.  When I was at the orthopedic doctor, I took off my sock to show him the break and Xadia took one look at my purple and blue foot and said, “oh mom, you drawing on your foot?”  I just laughed.  That is the understanding of a 2 year old.
Teagan is now 7 months old.  He is getting his top 2 teeth.  Now I know why he is not sleeping through the night.  Unfortunately Tim has to get up at night to take care of Teagan because I cannot walk on my bad foot just quite yet without my boot.

Warning, this posting is not a typical one.  Today I don’t feel much like blogging.  I am sad and tired.  The everyday occurrences of life have taken their toll on me.  I was talking to Tim asking him why do I feel so yucky?  I am reading my scriptures, praying, being a mom in every way possible, and doing the things I am supposed to.  I am not being rebellious or defiant to God’s laws or the laws of the land.  I am just having one of those days.  I am open for suggestions.  Sometimes reflecting on the good in my life lifts my mood.  So I will recap this week of the good and fun I had.  I got to go to the Pizza Pie Café with my family.  It is a new restaurant in Bountiful that is really fun and yummy.  What made it so great is that my friend, Leslie, is a part-owner.  I got to visit with her for a few minutes and get the whole story of the restaurant.  This week, I only had to stay 2 hours instead of 4 hours at Tae Kwon Do this because Jacinda and McCabe are now in the same class (YES!).  I have a nice clean house because we are refinancing and I wanted the appraiser to come to a clean house instead of a sty.   I also got to watch a new episode of Sherlock….I love the show but this particular episode did make me feel uncomfortable at times because of the boldness of nudity.  TV has gone too far.  If I wanted to see flesh, I would go to a strip joint.   So there it is folks….my life this past week in a nutshell.

School has started and life has been very busy.  Let me do a brief rundown of the happenings in the Fisher house.  Tim is busy working and balancing time between the kids and a new business venture…Speedy Clean.  This is a business that sells part washer machines.  I am impressed at how much this machine can save the customer money.  It is a good business model and I know that Tim will be successful.
Sasha is a chauffeur.  I drive the kids to school, to tae kwon do, to the store, to friends’ homes and anywhere else.  In my spare time I like to watch the stock market which by the way is doing great.  Speculation has it that the Dow will reach 14,000 by November.  I am interested to see how the presidential election will affect its performance.
Jacinda is off to a great start in second grade.  She is trying hard to read at least 20 minutes every day.  I am very pleased with the progress she has mad with reading.  Last year it was very challenging to get her to read and now she is doing it on her own without any prompting.  I like this behavior much more.
McCabe has started kindergarten.  He likes it.  He is now limited to playing the Wii on the weekends.  He has done a good job of obeying this rule.  McCabe loves to play Mario Brothers.  He told me that when he grows up he wants to make Mario brother games.
Xadia is busy reminding me that her “birthday is coming.”  It is on the 10th of October.  She likes to make pictures and give them to me as invitations to her birthday.  She also likes to watch my big big friend (a t.v. show) and loves swimming.
Teagan is such a good baby.  I like calling him big “T.”  He is now six months and has probably tripled his birth weight.  I am guessing he is about 23 pounds.  He is eating baby food like a champ and it shows.  The bishop commented that it looks like Teagan has never missed a meal.  He is a chunk.  At 4.5 months he got two bottom teeth (yes that is early for my children) and now it looks like a top tooth might be coming in.  Overall he is a very happy baby.
Friday we got to go to the Brigham City Temple open house.  It is like a mini Salt Lake temple.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  I love the marble floors and the painted blue squares on the ceiling.  It was such a treat to take the kids and show them the baptismal font, the sealing rooms, and the celestial room.  Temples are so special and it was a wonderful experience to share with the whole family.
