Stage and Treatment

After talking to the doctor today I am very optimistic about treating my cancer. I am a stage 2A. Dr. Nichols (who treated the famous cyclist Lance Armstrong) said that I have a very high chance of being cured (yeah!!). I start chemo Jan 28th. I will go once every two weeks for 4 months. I am very excited to start and get this done.

Such great news! Wow the doc who treated Lance Armstrong! I have faith that all will be well and your family will be blessed through all of this and amazed at how incredibly strong you are. You will be such a blessing to others in need after you have gone through all of this. Hey 4 months aint to bad if you get sick better than 9 months of pregnancy, LOL!

Tim & Sasha,
I am feeling a huge relief that you will be under the care of such a wonderful doctor!! I am greatful that your treatment will not be as long as we originally predicted in worst case scenarios. I am greatful for the time I am able to spend with Jacinda and McCabe. They are such happy little people (most of the time, they have their moments). There are so many moments that I am experiencing with them that I wouldn't trade for the world. Thank you for allowing me to care for them in your time of need. I love you both sooooo much. I will continue to make myself available for you. Please do not hesitate to ask for anything!!

PTL - prayers are already being answered. I too am impressed with the doctor that is treating you - good hands! Thank you for sharing with all of us - this gives me strength as well by your sharing your feelings - we all seem to think our problems are un-sermountable, but going through this with you is giving me strength to keep moving on with my own trials that aren't near as serious as yours. My love to you and your entire family. pg

When are you guys going to Disneyland?

I love the wigs by the way.

Hey, Sasha and Tim. I'm glad to hear you are starting the treatments - it must feel good to know you are finally taking the first steps to being cancer free. I've been thinking the last few days about the beach outings and the fun that we've had with you guys - one of these years we will do the same thing with our kids - how strange will that be??? Well, I know it's cliche, but you're in our prayers and I can't even imagine how many people are praying for you. - Travis

Sister Fisher,

I'm very glad to know that the cancer you have is highly treatable and that the overall outlook for you is quite optimistic. It looks like you have been blessed with the best possible medical help around.

You are remembered regularly in my prayers.

I admire your attitude during a time like this and my heart goes out to you and your family. I will be glad to help in any way, just let me know.

Regarding movies, one I like is "Ground Hog's Day". Not everything in this movie is praiseworthy and of good report, but I like science fiction and romantic comedies and this is somewhat of a combination of both. I'm pretty critical of Hollywood, but the message of this movie is ok with me. It's about a guy who is stuck living the same day over and over again. Once he becomes resigned to the fact that he can't break out living the same day over, he initially tries to use he knowledge to his own personal advantage. Eventually, however, he reaches a point where he begins to put he own life behind him and uses his knowledge to sincerely serve those around him. It is at this point he finally breaks free from being locked into the same day and can finally move forward.
Some people I know like this movie, lots of others don't, but just something to think about.

I plan to now keep up with your blog and how things are going. Again, I am very glad things look so optimistic.

Sincerely,
Bishop Johnson
