We are back from California.  What a fantastic and quick trip.  We arrived in Southern Cal to 104 degree temperature.  We visited Glen Helen park and then went to Mountain Lakes to have a picnic and play in the creek.  Our fun was cut short when a down pour came.  We ran for cover under a tree hoping that the rain would ease but it kept coming.  We just laughed because of the randomness of the situation.  After Mountain Lakes, we went to the Stubbs home.  There were lots of cousins for the kids to play with each day.  There was a total of 14 kids in their home.  Each day was filled with fun….never a dull moment.
Monday we went to Disneyland.  What a hot wonderful day.  Teagan stayed with grandma and Amy.  The other kids had fun riding and walking around the park.  Mac overcame a lot of fear that day by riding some big rides like Indiana Jones and Splash Mountain.  The next day we went to the beach.  The kids collected shells, boogie boarded, and made many sand creations.  Tim got a picture of a seal in the surf which was a neat rarity.  Xadia kept her life jacket on the whole time.  I kept doing head counts every few minutes.  Fortunately there were no tragedies.
The rest of the vacation was spent swimming at the Stubb’s pool and baking yummy goodies.  Oh and I almost forgot to mention, the kids did play Mario Bros. 3 or as McCabe likes to call it, “the old fashion Mario Brothers.” I love hearing that because I never thought that I would ever hear my child say something I grew up with is old fashioned.  I guess I am getting old….but that is a good thing.
On the way home we stopped by Vegas and spent the night at Circus Circus.  We got to play games with Cody, Tarra, Xavius, and Dad.  The kids won a lot of stuffed animals/toys.  We also saw an acrobat show.  The acrobat was suspended in a net and did a lot of crazy stretchy moves.  Wow, it is amazing what the body can do in its twenties.
