The Diagnosis

December 26, 2007 I had a biopsy on the back of my tongue and at the base of the left side of my neck. We were hoping for a good outcome. Unfortunately, the diagnosis wasHodgkins Lymphoma. I meet with the Oncologist this Tuesday 1/8/08. I don't know the stage or advancement of the cancer. I do know that the CT scan revealed abnormal lymph nodes in the chest and neck regions. I have attached a picture of my scar.

sasha,
I am sure you have heard from kerianne about what trials i am dealing with at this time. it has only been a little over a month since my husband passed away... so i am still trying to figure out how i feel about stuff. i have a testimony of trials and that they will strengthen us... but sometimes you just wonder why it has to be this trial or that trial that you have to go through to find your strength. you will be in my prayers. you are a strong person, so i know you will be so strong through whatever you go through.
love you, leslie *

Sasha, Tim, Jacinda and McCabe

I'm in a hotel room in Florida with my family. We are fresh off a vaction and I noticed this email.

All I can say is fight hard and stay strong. You are faced with a challenging task and the obvious thing to do is fight. You guys are a very loving & strong bunch and I pray for the best. I'm confident that you'll beat this thing. You have too.

If there is anything we can do for you and I mean anything I sincerely urge you guys to contact me. I will be more than happy to help in anyway. I also appreciate the fact that I am part of your blog. Thanks for letting me and my family know. You guys take care especially Sasha.

God Bless!

PS, thanks for the lovely Christmas Card and Photo.

Tim and Sasha, we are soooo happy you guys figured out how to get a hold of us. We have thought about you guys many times and wondered how and when we would reconnect as we both had moved states and we had no idea where to look for you and our efforts were not successful. We LOVE you both and cherish the friendships we have with you and the memories we hold. We were so saddened to hear about the diagnosis. I am so glad you started this blog. I asked Trav last night if he had talked to you lately and what the latest was. He said he hadn't and we planned on sending you an email today and opened it up to find this. Thank you! We think about your family all of the time. I know we are states away but if there is ANYTHING we can do at all please please don't hesitate to ask. Sasha you look radiant! Love you guys

Sasha,
I know that Heavenly father is watching over you at this trying time. He is bringing you to the top Oncologists in the State. Our Cancer Center has been recognized for their professionalism and the ability to go above and beyond for all their patients. I know this as I have worked closely with our cancer patients in the past and have witnessed first hand the caring and compassionate care that several of my patients had received. My prayers are with you and your family and if you need anything you just give ole Lizard a call and I will be there. I love you and know that you have a strong support of family behind you. we will help you get through this. Love Elizabeth (Aunt Lizard)
