Ring the bell, school has started. Summer is done. We enjoyed the last little bit by hosting some students from Taiwan, Yoyo and Woody. They stayed with us for a week while they attended classes and spent time with our family. One of the highlights for the boys were shooting guns. They are not allowed to own guns in Taiwan so Tim took them in the mountains to shoot. They were not ready for the kickback of the shotgun but were able to muscle through it.
We also hosted a party for all the Tawainese students staying with different host families. It was a lot of fun. There was swimming, corn hole, and 9 square. Kade Stubbs, Teagan, and Tim built the 9 square frame a few days earlier. Playing that game has been such a blast.
Teagan caught a few extra rays before summer officially ended. He set up an inner tube on our driveway and laid in the sunlight. He was out there for an hour before I told him to come inside.
Xadia got her wisdom teeth out. She wanted lots of pictures and recordings in case she said something silly. The only thing that was absurd was that she wanted to to Walmart and get mint ice cream. It could not be mint and chip or mint and cookies. I took her straight home after the surgery. She could not even walk in a straight line. She needed to lie down and rest.
Saturday the 16th, I wanted to have a date with my kids (who are still at home). So I took Xadia out to get her nails done, some boba, and crumbl cookies. I later dropped her off at Farmington Station to meet up with Zoey, a friend from work. It was nice to hear Xadia say that she had a fun time with me.
I took Teagan out for a haircut, Henry Weinhard's rootbeer, and khaki pants. He did not want to stay out long because he was expecting some friends to come over and go swimming. So our date was short and sweet. I do like to spend time with my kids. I want to make good memories so they can always have something to cherish.
Tim worked on the garage while I took the kids on dates. He painted the walls white and the beams gray. He also installed some new lighting which is very bright. I joked with him that the garage is looking nicer than the inside. But in all seriousness, I am glad he is getting the garage the way he likes.
Sunday was great! I got to lead the music in church. Roy and Ian Pergler got to sit by Tim. They were entertained with hidden picture puzzles on Tim's phone. They are the cutest boys. I love it when Ian sees me and shouts my name across the room to say, "hi." It makes my day. Later that evening, we had a dinner with my sisters and their families. The food was delicious and the company was great. We then played a hilarious game of nine square. Mimi kept laughing at me because I was in a dress and flip flops which caused me to make some weird moves. She just kept laughing and commenting on how goofy I looked. I am glad everyone had a good time regardless of my performance.
Fozzie is already enjoying the silent house with the kids in school.
Spoke to Jacinda yesterday. She was in good spirits and is loving her new area, Radford. She also got a new companion, sister Porter who is from Logan, Utah. I love how her letters have changed to focus on the love of Jesus Christ for all mankind and his incredible sacrifice. Jacinda is filled with love for everyone and she is doing amazing things in West Virginia. I am very proud of her. Here is one of her letters.
Hey y'all!
