It is 7:00 pm and the kids are in bed.  The weekend is over and I have a pinched nerve.  We had stake conference today at the regional center.  Jacinda sang in the primary choir.  They sang “I hope They Call me on a Mission,” and “Hear Him.”  It was really lovely especially when 15 kids came up to play a variety of strings (violins, cellos, and violas).  The main message I received is that we should be slow to show negative emotion before fully understanding the situation because you never know what the other person is experiencing.
Teagan did a first this past week.  He climbed on the toy boat and went down the slide all by himself.  He is getting so big.  He is such a cute chunky little guy.

This past week was mostly normal.  We had an episode last Monday with Xadia.  She had a fever and was coughing up blood.  The amount was so much that it saturated tissues and paper towels.  So she had to use a blanket to catch the blood.  I was on the edge of tears because my mind was racing through all the potential illnesses causing this horrific incident.  We got to urgent care and by then the bleeding had stopped.  Fortunately it was nothing serious.  She had ruptured a vessel near a tonsil resulting from the coughing.  She is now taking amoxicillin and is doing great.
McCabe turned six years on the 2nd of February.  We had a fun little party that consisted of making candy houses, a donut eating contest, relay races, and balloon tag.  He got a lot of great gifts but the highlight was a remote control car.  He along with his sisters love it.  It has big green tires and is able to flip over and spin and do other tricks.  That night just as we were winding down and getting ready for family prayer he said to me and Tim, “this was the best birthday ever.”  The comment made us feel good considering birthdays take a lot of work.
Jacinda got to go to the Lion House for a friend’s (Violet Holley) birthday.  Jacinda loved it.  She came back telling us all about Brigham Young.  How he wore a bib over his beard when eating to prevent crumbs from falling on his beard.  He used a toothbrush made of bone and pig’s hair.  One of the favorite games of his many children was, “button, button, who has the button?”  She also loved searching for the gumball in her slice of cake and making taffy.  Needless to say she wants her 9th birthday at the Lion House.
Teagan is getting his 7th tooth.  It is coming through the bottom gums.  He is also very good at crawling up the stairs.  I am still a little nervous because they are wooden and occasionally he will turn around too quickly to look behind him and loose his balance.  I am always creating a barricade to prevent him from going up those stairs.  He is also ready to graduate to a sipper cup.  He bit off the nipple of the bottle.  This is the second time in 2 months this occurred.  My little baby is growing up.
